Nursing Internships
As one of the Top 15 teaching hospitals in the U.S., we’re focused on the development of our professionals as well as our nursing community. From new graduates to students, Scott & White offers opportunities to help advance prospective nurses.
Scott & White nursing Internships consist of both didactic and clinical components and are designed to assist a new nurse in gaining the skills necessary to transition into the role of a registered professional nurse in a specialized area.

ACUTE CARE
The Acute Care program is 8 weeks in duration and is offered in a variety of specialties. Specialty areas may include orthopedics, trauma/neurology, oncology, and cardiology. Following program completion, nurses will be required to complete a 12-month commitment at Scott & White. Acute Care Internships are offered year-round.

SPECIALTY CARE
The Specialty Care program is offered in the months of January and June and internships range in length from 10 to 24 weeks. Opportunities may be available in the following areas: ED, ICU, OR, NICU, PICU, Pedi Acute Unit, Labor and Delivery, and PACU. Following program completion, nurses will be required to complete a 12- to 24-month commitment at Scott & White.
Specialty Care Internships begin in January and June. To be considered, you must submit an application and resume for up to 3 jobs.
Application periods for Specialty Care Internships:
- January 2013 internship : October 1 - October 26, 2012
- June 2013 internship : March 1 - March 29, 2013
